William Bentley

He was the minister of the Second Church in Salem, Massachusetts, for 36 years; famous for encyclopedic knowledge; a Unitarian opponent of intolerant evangelical Calvinists. He never married. His unique library, one of the largest of his day, contained at least 4,000 volumes.
